Research and inspiration
A competitor analysis was conducted to better understand the market, studying popular platforms like Twitch and YouTube Gaming. Additionally, the focus was on understanding gamer preferences, such as the need for quick access to specific games, live streams, and interactive elements like chat, which formed the backbone of the app’s design.
Information Architecture

Wireframing
The wireframing process focused on defining the layout and visual hierarchy of key screens within the app. Low-fidelity wireframes were created to outline the primary sections, including the home screen, game library, and live stream view. The goal was to establish a structure that would prioritize accessibility and ease of navigation.

UI Design
The UI design process was focused on creating an aesthetic and user-friendly experience that resonates with the gaming community. A dark theme with neon accents reduces eye strain and reflects the vibrant streaming atmosphere. Typography is bold and clear, enhancing readability for key elements. Interactive elements were made visually distinct to encourage engagement, and a consistent color scheme and modern iconography tied the brand together.
Prototyping & testing
During the prototyping phase, interactive prototypes of the app were made in Figma to simulate the app’s core features, including discovering games, watching live streams, and engaging in chat. These prototypes allowed users to experience the app as intended, providing essential insights into navigation and usability.
Streammly achieved its goal of providing an immersive, user-friendly platform that connects gaming enthusiasts. The app’s intuitive navigation, visually appealing dark mode with neon accents, and engaging features like chat and personalized recommendations were well-received in testing. User feedback emphasized the app’s ease of use and enjoyable experience, validating the design choices and confirming the app’s value for its target audience.
Designing Streammly was an interesting experience that taught me the value of continuous user feedback. For the future, I’m excited about potential new features like deeper personalization and community-driven tools. This project made me believe even more that design is most successful when it prioritizes the user’s experience, and I’m excited to bring these insights into future work.
